Mitra Baratchi
(Lecturer)

Assistant Professor in LIACS

Mitra is an assistant professor in LIACS and member of ADA Research Group. Mitra's research is focused on spatio-temporal and mobility data modeling. She designs algorithms that process trajectories of moving objects such as cars, people, and animals. Such research is targeting applications in crowd monitoring, smart mobility, and urban planning. Her goal is to make such variety of mobility-based applications more accessible through automating the process of learning models from raw mobility data.

Daniela Gawehns
(Teaching Assistant)

Doctoral Student

Daniela is a doctoral student working on methods to integrate multimodal data and extract information from such data. Her research is part of the project Dementia Back in the Heart of the Community where the use of a public park by patients with dementia, their families and people from the neighborhood is assessed. She will leverage information theory to integrate observational, questionnaire and sensor data to extract meaningful patterns from them. Her work is supervised by Matthijs van Leeuwen, her promotor is Aske Plaat.

Jaco Tetteroo
(Teaching Assistant)

Master Student

Jaco is a master's student in Computer Science & Advanced Data Analytics within the Artificial Intelligence track. He is working on his master thesis project on transfer learning. The aim of his project is to solve problems by training models on global level data and applying the learned weights to models for use on urban level data. The thesis is supervised by Mitra Baratchi.
